The meaning behind my beautiful series is inspired from Ecclesiastes 3:4, 6-7,11
“A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak
He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
The way I paint this style of painting is by pouring the paint and letting it blend and mix on its own. Sometimes I love what happens sometimes I don’t. If you zoom in on one small spot it can just look like a mess if you can’t take a step back and see the whole.
This is our life …and sometimes our marriages. Sometimes we can focus on the small things and how we don’t like -blank- so much that we don’t step back and see all the amazing things God is doing in and through our spouses. This is me right now. My amazing husband came out while I was painting and I asked him to add a cup of paint to this painting. I had in my mind that the paint should be poured one way… guess what… he poured it completely different then I wanted. As I look at this painting and I worked on it and as God worked on me I see all the more how important it is to treasure everything God has given us. The beautiful messy cup poured the wrong way moments that God uses to make us more like him and to make me less of me. He makes all things beautiful in his time. Even hurting marriages and broken relationships. We worship a God that heals.
