Proverbs 31:25-27 describes an excellent wife this way, “Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.” Sometimes I feel completely at a loss for how far short I fall. I snap at the kids, am impatient with their foolishness, and kindness is far from my tongue. My prayer through this painting is God fill us up so that what comes out of our mouth is you and not me. Fill us up so that we live a life of kindness. Out of the mouth the heart speaks, and my prayer is that we would live out our faith filled with the kindness of the Lord. It is the kindness of the Lord that leads to repentance and if we are to lead those in our lives to Christ we should have character saturated with kindness. “So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other” Col 3:12-14.
