The story of Noah and the flood teaches us the high cost of sin, God’s mercy and forbearance, and to hope in his promises that are always true. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like for Noah to be told to prepare for a flood. The faith and obedience that he demonstrates to us is an encouragement to obey God even when we can’t understand his plans. His perseverance in spite of persecution and mockery is an encouragement to fear God rather than man.
