Description
The moment I had the vision for this painting my heart couldn’t wait to put it on canvas. My heart for this painting is a cry against the racial injustices that plague our world.
My vision is of God’s cry resounding that this is not how it should be and yearning for healing in hearts and minds to take steps towards unity. We are all God’s creation made beautifully and different and that’s part of the beauty. I wanted to paint a lion roaring … but not scary…sad…broken… Only painted with fragmented black and white pieces representing many races, but that we are all part of the whole in Christ Jesus. I wanted the lion’s mane to feel like is was being blown or moved by the roar to represent the quickening of the spirit moving us in the direction he has for us to go and stand up against wrongs done and speak love and truth in his power.
